Bastion Hotel Heerlen, Heerlen

The hotel rooms were clean and tidy, fairly quiet, and sufficient for our needs. It was a bit expensive for the service offered but okay for a short stay. The location was convenient, close to the motorway with ample free parking onsite. The dining experience was standard, but they had a chef available for cooked-to-order eggs, including omelets.

The hotel is located near furniture shops, fast food restaurants, IKEA, and a main road, which was useful for me. The rooms were very cosy but on the smaller side, with a tinny old restroom and a shower that looked outdated. There was a lingering smell of smoke, indicating a previous heavy smoking guest. The service was exceptional, with extremely helpful and polite staff both at arrival and during breakfast and check-out. They were great and fluent in English and even offered me a bag to take away. The dining was average, with a standard buffet, but a chef was available to cook eggs to order, including omelets. The facilities were satisfactory overall.
